Ninilchik Campgrounds — To Hook-up or Not To Hook-Up

Call me spoiled if you like, but I absolutely love having full hookups at my campsites. It means I won't have to worry about things like the gray or black water tank capacities. I also won't have to be looking for those hard to find dump stations that are seemingly lacking across the Kenai Peninsula.

When dealing with sites that offer only water & electric services, I most always use the showers and toilet facilities in the campground — if provided. I also tend to cook more single pot meals and use paper plates & plastic utensils to cut down on the dishes.

Yup, give me the good ole full hookup sites any day. With the full hookup I can be myself and cook, clean and act just like I do when I'm at home. Not just because I don't need to be concerned about the number of dirty dishes, but because campgrounds that offer full hookups typically have WIFI and cable TV and are usually close to local shopping venues. This means I can purchase local specialty foods and have a grand time cooking in the kitchen. With a full hookup, the family motorhome truly is our home away from home.
